Justice Hima Kohli inaugurates the SIMC-Specialist Mediator’s Workshop at IAMC, Hyderabad
Singapore International Mediation Centre is conductingits Specialist MediatorWorkshopat IAMC, Hyderabad. The inaugural took place todayand was attended by esteemed guests, dignitaries, general counsels& group heads of MNCs, senior advocates and legal practitioners.
The inaugural ceremony witnessedJustice Hima Kohli, Judge, Supreme Court of India as the chief guest for the event and the other dignitaries present were Mr. George Lim, Chairperson, SIMC, Mr. Wee Meng, CEO, SIMC and Mr. Gregory Vijayendra, Board Member of SIMC, SC, Partner, Rajah & Tann.
The event commenced with Mr. Tariq Khan, Registrar, IAMC, Hyderabad welcoming the dignitaries and participants. Justice Hima Kohli shared her views on Mediation and emphasized on the need to choose mediation as the preferred mode of dispute resolution. Mr. George Lim highlighted the importance of getting trained as a mediator.
IAMC, Hyderabad looks forward to furthering the efforts of the SIMC with this specialist mediator’s workshop ahead of its 1stIndia Mediation Day on April 16, 2023.
About the Training
Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC) has customized a special mediation program for experienced legal and businessprofessionals interested in mediating cross-border commercialdisputes.The workshop is led by Mr. Loong Seng Onn, SIMC InternationalMediator, Mr. George Lim SC, Chairman of SIMC, and Mr. ChuanWee Meng, CEO of SIMC. With their guidance and direction,participants will be engaged in role plays, case studies,pragmatic approach to problem-solving and communicationmanagement activities to develop and hone their mediationskills.Participants will be equipped with an appreciation of differentdispute resolution paradigms. They will acquire the ability tocarry out a structured approach with an understanding of thefundamental building blocks of interest-based disputeresolution. Upon completion of the workshop, participants will beempaneled as a SIMC Specialist Mediator and be invited tomediate or co-mediate cases referred to SIMC.
