MOU Between IAMC , Hyderabad and Energy Disputes Arbitration Centre, Türkiye
International Arbitration & Mediation Centre Hyderabad (IAMC Hyderabad) has deepened its relationship and strategic ties in the Energy Arbitration sector, with the signing of an MoU with Energy Disputes Arbitration Center (EDAC). The signing ceremony took place in person in Istanbul in the presence of EDAC Chairperson Süleyman Boşça and IAMC Hyderabad Registrar Tariq Khan as well as EDAC Vice Secretary General Ece Dayıoğlu.
The objective of this MoU is to collaborate in making joint efforts to promote arbitration and mediation on an international scale through the practice of both international institutions. As a part of the MoU, both organizations will invest in the promotion and encouragement of Institutional Arbitration in the energy sector, as well as the development of resources and knowledge sharing between partner organisations.
EDAC is a sectoral-based arbitration centre established with the aim of solving disputes in Central Asia, Europe, Balkans, Middle East and Africa regions regarding Energy and Infrastructure Law. Having its own arbitration rules, EDAC is one of a kind in the energy arbitration.
IAMC Hyderabad is an international arbitration and mediation centre established in 2021 as a public charitable trust authored by the then Chief Justice of India. The centres vision and mission are ably guided by an eminent board of Trustees and an autonomous Governing Council consisting of legal luminaries, industry veterans and experts in the field of arbitration and mediation from India and abroad.
IAMC, Hyderabad is also delighted to renew its commitment to the Istanbul Arbitration Week (ISTAW) hosted by EDAC as a supporting organization for its 2023 edition. EDAC has been hosting ISTAW since 2021 as the first and only arbitration week in Türkiye. Third edition of ISTAW (ISTAW 2023) will take place between October 2-6, 2023 at Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus in Istanbul, Türkiye.
ISTAW 2023 will be celebrating the Republic of Türkiye’s Next 100 Years bringing together arbitrators, lawyers, academics, and arbitration experts from all over the world and will consist of panels, speeches on global investment, energy, trade, and arbitration law.
This MoU is expected to be the beginning of a new international arbitration era between Türkiye and India with the intent of delivering several events, trainings, and programmes jointly by EDAC and IAMC, Hyderabad.
