Round Table Discussion Between IAMC, Hyderabad and Confederation of Indian Industries, Telangana

June 2, 2023June 2, 2023 News and Events

On June 1st 2023, the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC) Hyderabad, hosted an interactive session with the Confederation of Indian Industries, Telangana (CII) members at its premises.

The esteemed members attending the session were Mr. C Shekar Reddy, Chairman, CII Telangana, Mr. Sai Prasad Devarajulu, Vice Chairman, CII Telangana, Mr. Samiuddin Shaik, Director & State Head, CII Telangana. The session saw the participation of 30+ CEO’s, Presidents, Vice Presidents and Manging Directors of various industries from the MSME, Aerospace, Defence, IWN, Infrastructure, Start Ups, Healthcare, Educations sectors of Telangana.

This interactive session started off with the address by Mr. Tariq Khan, Registrar, IAMC. In his candid conversation, Mr. Khan welcomed all the industry members to IAMC and explained a brief background of what the Centre has been doing in the past 18th months of its operations in Telangana. He emphasized on the fact that the Centre has been active in promoting its vision and mission across the country, but has been focusing more on Telangana.

He further spoke about why disputants were choosing to carry out their arbitrations in places like ICC Paris and SIAC even though India had competent courts & lawyers. Keeping this in mind, the Centre has been set up to keep such disputes within India, resolve cases in no time while keep the costs of arbitration low. Mr. Khan further spoke on the importance of mediation and how there has been a shift of trend in the field of conflict resolution while briefly explaining the difference between arbitration & mediation to the audience.

Mr. Khan spoke at length on what and how the centre can do for the industry members of Telangana, stating that “IAMC is a non-for-profit organisation and aims to preserve relationships of the disputant parties involved”. He also explored unique ideas of how the industries and the dispute resolution centre could collaborate and create an ecosystem for smooth functionin of businesses.

The Registrar in his concluding remarks before thanking all the members, invited questions, suggestions and ideas from the members of CII-Telangana for building stronger relationships for one another. The session was concluded with a physical tour of the facilities provided by IAMC for the members of CII-Telangana.
