RVR Associates and IAMC Hyderabad Host Panel Discussion on ‘Harmony of Rights: IP, Music, and Collaborative Frameworks’ to Celebrate World IP Day 2025
In celebration of World Intellectual Property Day 2025, RVR Associates, IPR Attorneys & Advocates, in collaboration with the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC), Hyderabad, organized a special panel discussion titled “Harmony of Rights: IP, Music, and Collaborative Frameworks.” The event was held at IAMC, Hyderabad, commencing at 5:00 PM.
The discussion was moderated by Dr. Venkat Reddy Donthi Reddy, Senior Advocate, and featured panelists Mr. Ramachari Komanduri (playback singer and music composer), Ms. Nikshita Niranjan (Deputy Registrar, IAMC Hyderabad), Mr. Magham Mallikarjun Reddy (Senior Associate – Litigation, RVR Associates), and Ms. Rishita Pandey (Associate – IPR, RVR Associates).
Aligned with this year’s global theme, “IP and Music – Feel the Beat of IP,” the session brought together prominent voices from the music industry, legal community, and dispute resolution sector. The panel stressed the significance of proper documentation and enforceable contracts in safeguarding artist, singers and others rights. Special emphasis was placed on the challenges posed by AI-generated music, noting that compositions created entirely by artificial intelligence often lack sustained emotional resonance. The panel concluded that while AI can assist in the creative process, the human element remains irreplaceable in music creation.
Discussions also delved into the growing importance of e-contracts and their enforceability, especially in digital collaborations. The panel further advocated for mediation as a preferred method for resolving disputes in the creative industries, offering faster and more artist-friendly solutions.
Overall, the event fostered an enriching exchange of ideas, reaffirming the vital link between creativity, intellectual property rights especially copyright for musician, and innovative dispute resolution practices.
