Strengthening Dispute Resolution: FTCCI Signs Letter of Support for IAMC Hyderabad

In a significant move to promote institutional mediation and arbitration, the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) signed a Letter of Support in favour of the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC), Hyderabad, at the Conference on Navigating Corporate Failure and Digital Fraud: Pathways to Success. The conference, organized by FTCCI, served as a platform to discuss corporate dispute resolution and strategies for mitigating financial risks.
The signing of the Letter of Support marks a key milestone in the collaboration between FTCCI and IAMC Hyderabad, reinforcing their shared commitment to fostering a structured, efficient, and business-friendly dispute resolution framework. The Letter acknowledges the critical role of institutional arbitration and mediation in resolving corporate disputes effectively and aims to equip businesses with the knowledge and resources to adopt these mechanisms as viable alternatives to litigation.
The event was graced by Sri V. C. Sajjanar, IPS, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), Hyderabad, as the Chief Guest, alongside Mr. A.J. Jawad, Registrar, IAMC Hyderabad, who was invited as a Special Guest for the Inaugural Ceremony of the Conference.
In his address, Mr. Jawad discussed the pressing issue of case pendency and the increasing burden on the judiciary, emphasizing the need for businesses to proactively anticipate disputes rather than resorting to litigation. He highlighted the importance of conflict pre-emption, deal mediation, and fair and balanced dispute resolution mechanisms to maintain investor confidence. He further advocated for the institutionalization of dispute resolution and encouraged businesses to incorporate the same into their dispute resolution clauses to ensure credibility, efficiency, and enforceability.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Mr. K.K. Maheshwari, Vice President, FTCCI, expressed his appreciation for this collaboration and reiterated FTCCI’s commitment to fostering a strong and sustainable dispute resolution ecosystem in Telangana. He emphasized that this partnership with IAMC Hyderabad would play a pivotal role in promoting awareness and capacity-building initiatives through webinars, seminars, workshops, and training programs.
