Tribunal Secretary Training Course Successfully Concluded at IAMC Hyderabad

IAMC Hyderabad is pleased to announce the successful completion of its 2-day Tribunal Secretary Training Course held on 27th and 28th February 2026, organised in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIADR).

The programme was designed to provide a comprehensive and practice-oriented understanding of the role, responsibilities, and ethical framework governing tribunal secretaries in modern arbitration.

The first day focused on the foundations of arbitration, including key principles such as party autonomy, due process, kompetenz-kompetenz principle, and enforceability under the New York Convention framework. Participants examined the distinction between institutional and ad hoc arbitration, the legal and institutional frameworks governing proceedings, and the evolving scope, necessity, and limits of tribunal secretaries. The sessions were led by Datuk Professor Sundra Rajoo and Anirudh Krishnan, who provided both doctrinal clarity and practical insight into international arbitral practice.

The second day focused on the practical responsibilities of tribunal secretaries, including case management, administrative coordination, drafting of procedural orders and tribunal correspondence, and the tribunal secretary’s role in the award process. A dedicated session on document production, including the preparation and structuring of a Redfern Schedule, provided participants with hands-on exposure to evidentiary management in arbitration. These sessions were conducted by Vishal Aggarwal and Isha Sinha, who guided participants through procedural simulations and structured drafting exercises.

The programme concluded with an assessment component to evaluate participants’ understanding of procedural frameworks and practical competencies. Participants who successfully qualify through the assessment become eligible for empanelment as Tribunal Secretaries with IAMC Hyderabad and AIADR.
